Bent valves and a dinged head will cost you a lot more than money.

I stripped an engine i bought for spares which had a belt fail, bent valves, wrecked head, split piston, cracked barrel and bent rod, not a pretty sight and made me struggle to get the barrel off to let me get to the bottom end and the bits I wanted :S
Change the belt every 2 years even if you don't ride it :woohoo:

Note that a cambelt change need not necessarily result in a medical emergency.

Well made the call to Bob Wright and ordered the belt and tool and a new filter so just waiting but I'm also waiting as I wanted to get it tested as well but it can wait now as I'd better do this and check the tappets as well

Hi guys finally managed to get the belt changed took a while but that's family and work. Was easy enough to do but the noisy tappets was a issue ,found it to be a missing screw and lockout on the exhaust cam  9
But I removed the cam cover to find it ,yes lucky I know.
But my problem is now it's leaking coolant from the drain hole under the thermostat? Could this because I just tightened the head nuts with spanner and not a torque wrench
Any help would be grateful
